Food Matters – Project Food Annual Newsletter

Welcome to the Project Food annual newsletter – Food Matters.

Ideally, everyone would have the income, skills, knowledge and confidence to enjoy a nutritious diet. Many people live on very low incomes, suffer from mental illness, have never been taught how to cook, and do not understand what they should be eating – so they struggle to make healthy food choices.  This has a profound impact on their lives.

At Project Food we support people who find it hard to eat well, whatever their difficulties. Our work includes helping people to access healthy food by sending out fortnightly recipe boxes to families on low incomes. Everyone who receives one has told us that it enables them to eat more healthily and makes them more likely to cook from scratch.

We support people to improve their cooking and budgeting skills – two thirds of adults who attended our ‘Cooking Made Easy’ sessions in Axminster now eat a balanced diet all the time (before the course, none of them felt it was a priority).

We want to help more people like this.  With your help we can.  We hope you enjoy reading our latest newsletter which gives more information about our activity this year.    We would be most grateful if you would consider making a one off donation or setting up a standing order to help us to help more people into the future.
