We are delighted once again to be able to offer food boxes to families of school aged children. So if you live in or near Axminster and would like one, please get in touch on 01297 631782 or info@project-food.org.uk. We will be doing them for 3 weeks from 16th August
This is a repeat of the recipe boxes that we gave to 50 lucky families to cook meals for themselves over the summer half term. We prepared the boxes, and working through the Axe Valley Academy, Axminster Primary and St Mary’s Schools in Axminster, we made sure that families received the boxes before half term.
The comments we got back from the families were all really positive:
“We loved the apple and cinnamon muffins and the chickpea curry”
“I enjoy that they were easy for me and my daughter to do together”
“It was great to spend time together cooking and the muffins were very popular.”
“It was nice to try new recipes – we had never tried a chickpea curry before.”
We hope to start to donate recipe boxes more regularly as we know it can be a very effective way to support some of the families most in need.
