At Project Food, we are proud to join the national celebration of Volunteers’ Week, a time to recognise the incredible people who give their time, energy, and dedication to support our work across East Devon.
Our volunteers are the quiet champions behind so much of what we do. Whether they’re helping in our cooking sessions, preparing recipe boxes, maintaining our kitchens, gardening, fundraising, delivering meals, or cooking nutritious ready meals, every task, big or small, plays a vital role in helping us deliver our mission.
Their contributions go far beyond practical support. Our volunteers help us build something deeper: confidence, connection, and community. They bring warmth, compassion, and a sense of belonging to the people we work with—many of whom are facing significant challenges in their lives.
We know that the impact of volunteering is powerful. It’s felt not only by those who receive support, but also by those who give it. Volunteering creates purpose, strengthens communities, and creates lasting bonds.
To all our volunteers: thank you. Your generosity and commitment make a real and lasting difference. We are deeply grateful for everything you do.
If you are interested in joining the Project Food volunteer family, please do not hesitate to get in touch. You can contact kerry@project-food.org.uk or send her a WhatsApp on 07305 004631, or of course, you can call the office on 01297 631782. She would love to chat with you.
We hope this week serves as a reminder of the value of giving back—and the extraordinary things that can happen when people come together to support one another.
Happy Volunteers’ Week!
